The back and the front of it. LAX The World of Cool Pictures by Sofia Coppola, Los Angeles 1994-1995. Sofia's niece Gia on the cover. Some very, very nineties typography on the back. This is one extremely rare book / double CD pack. 
 

Discs in the tray and the book laid in. The music is by Phantom Planet, the band whom Jason Schwartzman (Sofia's cousin - one of very many!) was a member of. They went on to record California, which you will know from The OC and maybe this music video. Anyway, Phantom Planet weren't even signed to a record deal until 1997 so these four songs on this disc are early works!
 

The book is - to write in the words of the type aesthetic - pretty rad. 
 

It is great. But... not the whole story. Because there is a Photo CD! 
 

And this is a little like finding a bunch film rolls shot by Sofia and taking it along to Snappy Snaps yourself and then, very selectively, choosing who to share them with! Like, probably, no one - you can keep these secrets to yourself! 
 

Not entirely sure whose arm that is. Probably Spike Jonze. And that's probably not a real tattoo but a neat pen doodle by Sofia. Someone will doubtless email us with FACTS - after we have sent this newsletter to 30,000 people :)
 

Also don't know who that is. There are ninety something 'nineteen nineties something' photographs on the disc. It is an absolute treasure. And so rare, even in Japan, that it is virtually a unique pleasure to own it and look at them. Right now this is the only copy for sale in the world... the way we like it!
